Where am I?
Something happened about a month ago. I’m not sure what, but ever since then I’ve been constantly exhausted and running a low-grade fever and night sweats every night. For a little while I was losing weight drastically, almost a pound a day, but at least that’s stopped. The doctors have run tests, lots of them. I have a condition called Evans syndrome, so I’m more likely...

The #1 benefit of being a telecommuter/office of one: no one can tell if you’re wearing pants. And if you’re smart enough to avoid video conferences, the full monty is a definite possibility.

Creative Progress is looking for a new contributor
As I’ve mentioned before, I run another blog called Creative Progress. Its goal is to curate content from around the web that shows or describes artists as they create there works and discuss the processes and thinking they employ. Another goal we have is to start creating our own content, interviewing and talking with artists via email or video. If you follow Creative Progress (and if you...

What I learned in my first year as an "artist".
It’s been almost a year since I started to start calling myself an illustrator, and it’s been pretty awesome and very educational. In that time I’ve learned alot about what it takes to be an artist and even more about the business of art. Here are the biggest lessons that managed to sink through my thick skull. The US Postal Service is my friend. A lot of people bitch about the...

Help me help Keith!
Hey everyone, A friend of mine, and fellow designer, Keith Anderson has been fighting medical challenges stemming from Pancreatitis since November 3rd. You can read more about his situation at prayforkeith.com. As many of us know, things like this have a tendency not only to drain a family mentally and emotionally, but to take a toll financially as well. Big (D)esign in Dallas, a group that...

Do you "like" me?
If Little Green Toaster reaches 100 “likes” on Facebook before 12/1, one lucky “liker” will win an Octorider print. If we make it to 150 by then, I’ll give a print to two lucky winners. So what are you waiting for, get over there and Like away: Little Green Toaster on Facebook

New Etsy shop open!
A few friends have been urging me to try opening an shop on Etsy in addition to littlegreentoaster and I’ve decided to go ahead and give it a shot. For now I’ll just be listing prints there. No more commissions... for now.
I’ve decided to take a break from accepting new commissions and commercial work. The next three to four months. I’m going to try to focus on creating some new pieces in the hopes of doing a show or two next year. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive and hired me to draw some pretty cool things. Wish me luck.

WatchWatch
This is pretty awesome. The latest episode of ToyBreak (Episode 190) has a segment talking about George Gaspar’s recent visit to FOE. Seeing Western MA and more specifically, great people like Jim and Nicole (the awesome owners of FOE) get broader attention like this is so great. Check out the video. Ayleen and George start talking about FOE about 28 minutes in. And to boot, my Octorider...

I'm an Art Crush
There’s an interview with me up at Edison Rex, check it out: http://t.co/OsixKGRa Thanks so much to Maeg Yosef for taking the time and caring about what I have to say. And yes, all of the typos and bad grammar are mine. It’s how I talk. If you don’t already follow Maeg’s blog, you should. It’s brilliantly written with down-to-earth thoughts on art, creativity,...

My other blog...
Well actually, I have a couple of “other” blogs, but the one I want to talk about right now is Creative Progress. It’s been on hiatus for a bit, but we’re bringing it back. Historically it’s been a curated list of articles, videos, blog posts and more that focus on artists and their creative process. It went dormant for a while, but Joe and I have agreed to keep it...

Not dead... yet...
Was sick for a bit, and the resulting sick days lead to an overwhelming backlog of work for the day-job. Almost through it now. Should be able to resume morning doodles and other projects soon. Have a few commissions in the works to. Need to get started on those.
