I'd Rather Be a Robot

Illustrations, doodles and other such gibberish from Adam Connor.

If you're more interested in my work as a designer with the talented people at Mad*Pow, check out my site: adamconnor.com.

Or if you're just really interested in me, you can find me on Twitter, Flickr, Dribbble, or my other art-related blog: Creative Progress.

Oh, and if you feel like being super nice and supporting me, you can always purchase some of my work at my shop: little green toaster.

Ask me anything

Probably the last progress shot before I post the finished product. 1st time painting a toy. What do you all think?

Recent Work for Look 2 at FOE Gallery in Northampton.

On Friday night my wife and I attended the opening for Look 2, the local artist showcase at FOE Gallery in Northampton, MA. As I predicted, it was AWESOME! Amazing work from the likes of Ansis Purins,Chris Piascik,Erik Wayne Patterson,Rick Beaupre,Toby Barnes and more provided the eye-candy while High & MIghty Beer provided the libation.

Below are the 3 pieces I recently finished and contributed to the show. All are 8 x 10 ink and watercolor on bristol.

Can I play too?

Hey! Wait for me!

Here, let me get that for you.

Both “Can I play too?” and “Here, let me get that for you.” sold during the opening. If you’re interested in “Hey! Wait for me!” it should be available on FOE’s site in the next few days.

Working out a time lapse setup in my studio. Definitely need some better lighting. The focus issue is my own fault. The monster is a sketch/doodle for an upcoming project. I’ll be posting videos on Vimeo. Follow me there if you’re into it. http://vimeo.com/41167212

What do you see in the dark? 6” x 8” Pen & Ink on Bristol

This piece (from which I’m still cross-eyed due to all the stippling) will be on display briefly this weekend at FOE in Northampton as part of a show of work inspired by Rex, the newest album from Dorian.

The show opens Saturday night at 6pm and will feature Dorian playing an acoustic set from the new album as well as works from amazing people like: 64 colors, Tim Senecal, Chloe Vanessa, Rick Beaupre, Dedleg and many more.

So if you’re looking for something to do Saturday night, stop by! For more info on the show check out the Facebook page

  2. Get a pencil
  3. Draw something
  4. Stop giving a flying fuck what it looks like
  5. Repeat…

I don’t think I could be happier with the way this guy turned out.
His name is Chad, and he’s the mascot for this great Kickstarter project to develop a set of field guides on research and best practices for designing voting and ballot systems that help insure people vote for the things they intend to.
Please take some time and check it out!
